Weekend Packages

Did you think you had to go all the way out West to experience a working ranch?
Well we have good news for you.  We’ve been working cattle with horses for over 15 years here at Clark Farms, in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania.  Located one hour West of Harrisburg and just seven miles off of the PA Turnpike we are close enough to spend a long inexpensive weekend.

With over 18 leased or owned properties with cattle or horses on all of them, there’s a lot of work to be done.  From checking fences to checking calves you’ll have an opportunity to help. What do you like to do? Work with horses, or cattle?  Depending on when you chose to come, there’s something that you will enjoy.  Bringing cattle in from the pastures to be worked, spring branding done in Western tradition, colt breaking and rodeo practices.

Trail Riding

Come and stay in one of our guest houses, bring your own horses or use one of ours.  Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.  With cattle and horses everywhere in the valley, you are surrounded by peaceful settings.  Stay in the Fowler House and you are adjacent to over 21,000 acres of riding with 50 miles of trails.  The houses and apartments are fully furnished including kitchenware, washer and dryer facilities and bedding.  Housekeeping will clean up after your departure.  $325/Friday thru Sunday.   When bringing your own horses, most of the facilities have pens adjacent to keep your horses in.  $5/horse/night.

Colt Starting

A weekend of foundation for your young horse. Bring your un-started horse and we will spend four sessions teaching you how to get him safely started under saddle.  We will walk you through each step of the process. The cost is $350.00; this includes horse training and a basement apartment.

The Weekender

No Muss No Fuss Weekend—Check in Friday, Checkout Sunday. This package includes a ranch tour and one guided afternoon trail ride on one of our ranch raised Quarter Horses. A great idea for your next family get-away. $375.00/ Plus $25 per horse.  Minimum rate applies.  Discounts available for larger groups.

Guest House Rentals

Guest House Rentals - Our Houses and Basement Apartments can be rented without a package as well.  Visit the area, hike, fish or hunt.  There is plenty of Rugged Country to see. Take a trip to Raystown Lake and enjoy the many attractions the area has to offer.  The houses and apartments are fully furnished including kitchenware, washer and dryer facilities and bedding.  Housekeeping will clean up after your departure.

Do Drop In

Please feel free to just come see us for the day, look at our horses or get a ranch tour.  If you like what you see and want to come for a stay, book your weekend before you leave.  We’re within three hours of Philadelphia, Baltimore and Pittsburgh.  Far enough away to allow you to forget about the hustle and bustle, but close enough to make a weekend get-away worthwhile.

Gator Rental

A six-wheeled John Deere Gator can be rented for use at the Fowler House.  Explore on your own, or if someone does not want to ride a horse, they can follow along on the gator.  State Forest has ATV trails accessible from the property. Adult supervision is required at all times.  $25/day
